Summer printables: Prereading cards

Mr. Toddler started asking to learn his letters a few months prior to my accident. We still haven’t gotten back into the full swing of works like we used to do though (which has left this Mama a bit upset). In the meantime, I have started to work on creating new printables with a focus on pre-reading for the weekends.

Today, I am sharing a very simple pre-reading freebie! Using Mr. Toddler as inspiration, I put these cards together to demonstrate some of the images and activities of summer. These cards can serve as either a pre-reading work or a seasons activity by introducing your little ones to the times of year!

Ideas for use

  • Print two copies of this set and ask child to match the images to each other.
  • Gather figurines of the objects represented in the photos and ask child to match objects to cards.
  • Explain what is on the cards to introduce the concept of summer to your child/children
