Winter mitten letter matching printable

We have been moving forward with Letter of the Week for the past few months. Y is so interested in learning letters and letter sounds. Inspired by his curiosity, I have created a very simple, winter themed letter matching printable!

You can download it for free in either English or Russian! This is a capital and lower case letter matching activity. The capital letters are all representing the right mitten and lower case the left mitten. The colours of the corresponding letters also match to add a self correcting element.

How to use

I recommend laminating these printables for extra durability so you can reuse them multiple times!
To present this work, I kept all of the upper case letters attached to each other as a mat. I cut apart all of the lower case letter mittens. I asked Y (3 years old) to match the lower case letters to the upper case ones.
If your child would be overwhelmed by all the letters at the same time, then I recommend presenting 1 set at a time. For example, 1 mat of upper case letters and the corresponding lower case letters.

For what age?

Some of my readers recently asked me to also share what age group my printables and activities target. I always struggle with this as first and foremost you should take the lead of your child! However, I will give you a few tips and a general range in hopes of giving you guys more clarity.
My son (to whom I refer to as Y on here) is 3 years 4 months old and can do this activity with relative ease. He is very good at puzzles, but he does not know all of the letter sounds very well yet. For him, that is the challenge in this specific work.
This printable can be used with children that are learning letter sounds, that enjoy matching activities, and are generally around 3-4 years old.
Please keep in mind that every child is different. The age range suggested above is based mostly on my child and is by no means meant to be a restriction, but rather a suggestion.
