Y has really enjoyed our Butterfly Life Cycle printables. He actually was around while I was printing them and was very enthusiastic about getting them printed and onto the shelves. I am typically pretty careful about being a bit secretive about preparing the works. I like to get them up as a sort of surprise so he can explore the new materials all at once.

This time, I didn’t really think about it. Using the printer is a pretty exciting process for him, so I let Y take the papers out of the printer. Of course, he was so excited to get the works finished, he absolutely insisted on cutting them out himself. No, mama could not help and he must do it himself. Of course, I let him, being thankful that we have such an efficient printer.

Y did a pretty good job cutting everything out, but the funniest bit was that he said that he was working. Afterwards, he asked to use my phone and started taking photos of the materials he had cut out. I could definitely tell this is a blogger’s kid! I love this boy!

Anyway, the materials I was preparing were our butterfly themed life cycle activities.

Spring Activities: butterfly life cycle activities

Age: 4+
Why: This printables set contains everything you need to teach your students about the life cycle of a butterfly! This set is perfect for children ages 3-6, or those simply interested in learning more about butterflies!

One of our favourite activities is to make books! I print books for Y to color and then we bind them.

Another activity that is always is a hit is using our life cycle spinner! No matter how many life cycles we explore, these spinners are always a blast! We used it as a visual for our life cycle cut and paste work.

I also created butterfly life cycle 3 part cards. These are a great way for children to retain information. I presented them in our custom 3 part card tray.

Here is a sample set!

Next, we explored the phases of a butterfly’s life cycle more in depth. I created a set of cards with no labels and a poster that can be used for control  or as wall art in a classroom. I kept presentation very simple. Do remember to place the cards in a neat bowl to prevent them from moving.

Here are all of the cards all laid out.
