We had so much fun putting together our butterfly unit recently. After I shared our beautiful colours of butterflies cards, a reader expressed that it would be nice to have cards with the names of the butterflies. Well… here they are!

I am so excited about how beautifully these cards turned out! I do want to say, I only included 26 different types of butterflies. This is to keep children from being overwhelmed by tons and tons and tons of cards, and also to keep this lovely material free! I really tried to find images of butterflies that were beautiful and clear. I hope your children, your students, and you enjoy these cards!

How to use 3 part cards

You can also read more about how to use 3 part cards, you can read this post! For Y (4 years old), I use the image cards in combination with a Montessori 3 part lesson to teach him the names of the clouds. I read the information cards to him myself as those contain too much text for him to recognize letters.

Y cannot read yet even though he is working on letter recognition and letter sounds. For children that can read, you can use these as traditional Montessori 3 part cards.
